Youth baseball lineup generator
Build a fair fielding rotation and batting order for your youth baseball team in about a minute. LineupBud tracks the whole season, so the kid who has been stuck in right field gets the infield innings they are owed, and nobody sits two games in a row.
Free for your first team and two games. No credit card.
How the generator works
- 1. Set up your team. Pick your division, how many players take the field, and which positions you actually use. Paste your roster or import it from a screenshot of your league app.
- 2. Mark who is here today. Absences are handled before anything is generated, so the card matches the kids at the park.
- 3. Choose your pitchers. You pick who throws each inning. Season innings and rest status are shown next to each name.
- 4. Press Generate. The rest of the defense, the bench rotation and the batting order fill in around your picks.
A printable dugout card
Batting order and defense by inning on one page, with the bench row, anyone out today, and a field diagram showing only the spots your division uses. Print two or four cards per sheet for your assistants.

Fair over a season, not a game
Most lineup tools shuffle one game at random. LineupBud keeps a running count of innings at each position, bench innings and at-bats, then closes the biggest gaps first. You can see at a glance who is owed time where.

Balance is the biggest innings gap between the spots your team uses regularly. Lower is fairer. "Games used" is how many finalized games each spot was actually on the field.
Built for Little League rules
- T-Ball and Single A rotate every kid through every position, no bench.
- AA and up support preferred positions, blocked positions and catcher eligibility per player.
- Division pitching guidance is shown on the game page, including a caution when a pitcher is scheduled past the inning limit or set to catch afterward.
- Rolling batting order: whoever was on deck at the end leads off next game.
- Only the innings your game actually went count toward season totals.
Common questions
- Is the lineup generator free?
- Yes. Your first team and two games are free, with no credit card. After that a Team Pass covers unlimited games for the season.
- Does it work for T-Ball and coach pitch?
- Yes. T-Ball through Intermediate are supported. Divisions where everyone plays every inning skip the bench entirely, and coach pitch, machine pitch and kid pitch are all handled.
- How does it keep positions fair?
- Every inning a player spends at each position is tracked across the whole season. The next lineup gives innings to whoever is furthest behind, so infield time evens out over the year instead of game by game.
- Can I print a lineup card for the dugout?
- Yes. Each game prints a dugout card with the batting order, defense by inning, the bench row and a field diagram, with two or four cards per sheet.
- What about pitching limits?
- The app shows your division's pitching guidance, flags a pitcher scheduled past the inning limit, and warns you when a kid is set to catch after pitching.
